NBSA works with leading universities to solve employers' workforce challenges – from basic job-readiness training to recruitment and development of skilled candidates. Our Disability Employment Institute (DEI) further refines that vision by focusing on the most overlooked talent pool in the American workforce: people with disabilities.
DEI engages with the disability community by offering individuals the training and skills they need to reenter the workforce. The end result is a win-win situation – empowering those with disabilities, while providing employers with a diverse talent pipeline of skill-certified candidates.
As an authorized training provider under Chapter 31, DEI is currently working to provide training and certification to help veterans return to civilian life or gain independence in daily living. And disability insurers seek out the institute's university-endorsed training to help transition workers with disabilities to new jobs, thus reducing long-term disability claims.
By developing and certifying crucial workplace skills for people with disabilities, the Disability Employment Institute is delivering workforce solutions that fundamentally improve American business.
